Kellianne Carfi

Kelli is the Director of Wellness Initiatives at OPEN and a clinical social worker. She received her B.S. in Family Studies from the University of New Hampshire and her Master of Social Work from Boston College. She completed her second year MSW internship at OPEN in 2013 and was hired as a full time staff member after graduation. She has experience working with adolescents and young adults, specifically related to substance use, sexual violence, domestic violence and mental health. Kelli strives to provide prevention and education on difficult topics in an engaging and approachable way.

Megan O’Hara
Director of Violence Prevention Initiatives (she/her)

Megan is the Director of Violence Prevention Initiatives at OPEN and a licensed independent clinical social worker. Megan has worked in health promotion and prevention efforts on college campuses since 2013. Previously, she worked as an outpatient therapist and high school social justice teacher. Megan earned her B.A. in Psychology and Master of Education from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Social Work from Boston College. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, painting, exploring bookstores, and playing volleyball.

Kyla Martin
Confidential Resource Advisor (she/her)

Kyla staffs OPEN’s Confidential Resource Advising services and serves as a SHAPE Facilitator. She graduated from Macalester College with a B.A. in Mathematics, earned a M.S. in College Student Development and Counseling from Northeastern University, and holds a graduate certificate in Restorative Practices from the International Institute for Restorative Practices. She has engaged in sexual violence prevention and response initiatives at Louisiana State University, Tufts University, Wheaton College, and Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. In previous positions, she has worked with both students impacted and accused of sexual violence to assist them through the investigation and adjudication process by providing support and resources. In her free time, she enjoys baking, playing golf, and spending time with her partner, pupper, and little one.

Kimberly Bement
Assistant Director for Health Education (she/her)

Kim is the Assistant Director for Health Education at OPEN. She received her B.S. in Public Health Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and her M.S. in Community Health Education at Merrimack College. Kim was a NASPA certified Peer Health Educator at UMass where she got experience sharing resources relating to mental health, self-care, alcohol and other drugs and sexual health with the campus community. Kim joined the OPEN team in January 2022 looking to continue her passion for health promotion. In her free time, Kim enjoys going to workout classes, reading, and traveling around New England!

Rachael Cina
Assistant Director, Survivor Support (she/her)

Rachael is an Assistant Director at OPEN, managing the Sexual Violence Resource Center. Rachael earned a BA in Global Studies from Lesley University, and an MSW from Boston College School of Social Work. As a graduate intern, Rachael worked in domestic and teen dating violence prevention. At her previous institution, Rachael developed sexual violence prevention initiatives across campus, and developed prevention cirrucula for NCAA athletes. She supported students confidentially as they navigated experiences of sexual violence, and worked closely with Title IX and other campus partners to advocate for student survivors. Rachael is passionate about preventing violence and offering compassionate care and support to those who experience it. Outside of work, Rachael can be found listening to showtunes, spending time with her babies, or getting herself a little treat.

Colin Griffiths
Assistant Director (he/him)

Colin is an Assistant Director at OPEN. He graduated with his B.A. in History and with a minor in Theology from Boston College in May 2021, and completed his Master of Social Work in May 2023 at Boston College. Prior to his work at OPEN, Colin worked as an individual therapist at a private practice working with folks of various ages and backgrounds. He also previously was a MSW intern at OPEN for the 2022-23 academic year working with students around substance use. Colin is passionate about facilitating non-judgmental conversations around substance use, wellness, and navigating the social life of a college student. In his spare time, he roams Boston looking for the best cup of coffee, showing off his dog Baxter, hunting down vinyl, and planning events with friends!

Alex Kane

Alex is an Assistant Director at OPEN. She graduated with her B.S. in Health Science from Northeastern in May of 2022, and completed her Master of Public Health in August of 2023. Alex is also a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES). Alex joined the OPEN team in August of 2021 as a Graduate Assistant for Sexual Health Promotion, and in January of 2023 transitioned to a full-time position. She works with students for alcohol and other drug prevention meetings. Alex also contributes to OPEN’s sexual health and general wellness programming, in addition to working with the Fraternity and Sorority Life community at Northeastern. In her free time, she enjoys drinking coffee, trying out new recipes, reading, and exploring Boston.

Olivia Duncan

Olivia is the Administrative Assistant at OPEN. She earned her B.A. from Occidental College in Diplomacy and World Affairs where she served as part of the Occidental Sexual Assault Coalition (OSAC), a student-run survivor advocacy group. She also has experience in international policy research, with a specific focus on menstrual health equity, sustainable development, and gender-based violence policies in global cities. Olivia is passionate about survivor services and community-based approaches to healing and growth. In her free time, she enjoys reading, dancing, and drinking tea.

Bella Donovan
MSW Intern, Alcohol and Other Drug Services (she/her)

Bella is working as OPEN’s clinical intern for Alcohol and Other Drug Services. Bella graduated from UMass Amherst in 2022, where she studied Sociology and Psychology with certificates in Social Welfare and the Criminal Justice System. Bella is currently pursuing her Master’s in Social Work at Simmons University, where she also works as a Student Ambassador for prospective students. In addition to OPEN, Bella is currently employed as a residential supervisor at The Home for Little Wanderers, where she provides direct care to queer and trans youth impacted by trauma. When she finds free time, Bella enjoys going to concerts with friends, or staying home and binge-watching bad television.

Cassie Marzke

Cassie is a clinical intern at OPEN’s Sexual Violence Resource Center. She earned her B.A. in Psychology from U.C. Berkeley and is currently a second year Masters in Social Work student at Boston University. Before coming to OPEN, Cassie worked as a case manager at the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center. In addition to clinical work, she has experience creating and implementing interpersonal violence prevention programs. Cassie is passionate about holistically supporting survivors around a variety of needs throughout their healing process. In her free time, she enjoys crafting, listening to audiobooks, and going on long walks.

Caroline is a second-year Psychology student with minors in Public Health and Spanish. Caroline is very passionate about the importance of equitable and accessible behavioral healthcare and health education for all. On campus, she is a resident assistant, teaching assistant, an editor for Northeastern’s science magazine, and an active member of ‘NEURONS’ club and PsyClub. Originally from Boulder, Colorado, Caroline loves to write, paint, hike, and eat sushi in her free time!

Stephanie is a Master of Public Health student and a member of Northeastern’s Cross Country and Track and Field teams. She is passionate about empowering others through education. As a Sexual Violence Prevention Educator, she is committed to helping young adults build skills and confidence they can carry with them throughout their lives. In her free time, she enjoys going on walks, spending time with friends and family, and trying new foods!

Sarah is a second-year Criminal Justice and Psychology student with a minor in Writing on the Pre-Law track. She is passionate about making sure everyone has access to accurate resources and information about sexual violence. On campus, she is a Husky Ambassador, editor-in-chief of Hopelessly Yellow NEU, and a member of Phi Alpha Delta, as well as PsyClub. Originally from Fort Collins, CO, she loves being outside, watching sports, reading, writing, going to the gym, and spending time with friends.

Cate Marshburn

Cate is a second-year Behavioral Neuroscience major with a minor in Philosophy. She is the vice president of Northeastern Health Link Society and a faculty outreach advisor for the Women’s Research Engagement Network. Coming from a background in advocacy against book banning, Cate is excited for a new journey to connect with her community to spread awareness about sexual health and work for a safer, healthier community. In her free time, she likes shooting baskets, playing saxophone, and getting coffee with friends.

Jillian Richmond

Jillian is an incoming 2nd year student at Northeastern. She is a Biology major on the Pre-Medical Track, with a minor in Political Science. Jillian is super excited to be a part of this team, and is also involved in organizations like Rural Health Initiative and Science Club for Girls. Growing up in New Hampshire allowed Jillian to grow a passion for hiking, swimming, surfing, and basically anything outside.

Elizabeth is a fourth-year Pharmaceutical Sciences major, and an Up2Us educator at OPEN. At OPEN, she facilitates first-year presentations surrounding Bystander Intervention, and presentations for Fraternity and Sorority Life groups. Outside of OPEN, she is a contributing photographer for The Huntington News and Tastemakers Magazine, works in a lab, and enjoys writing, spending time outside and with friends!
