OPEN’s Frisky Husky program delivers free external condoms, internal condoms, oral dams, and water-based lubricant conveniently to mail services for easy pick-up on our Boston campus! Located on another Northeastern campus? Please view this webpage for information based on your location.

Program Goals

  • Promote use of barrier methods (condoms and oral dams) during sexual activity
  • Reduce STI transmission rates and increase STI testing rates
  • Promote affirmative consent and boundary setting during sexual activity

Frisky Husky is currently limited to Northeastern students living in university housing, including students living in residence halls and Northeastern leased properties. Students may order up to 6 times during the semester. Orders are self-paced, meaning you decide when during the semester you’d like to place each order. Students can expect to receive their order within 7-10 business days, and you will receive an email notification that your order is ready for pickup in your assigned mailroom.

Students not eligible for Frisky Husky have multiple options for accessing free- or low-cost sexual health supplies in the Boston area. Students are encouraged to visit the Wellness Vending Machine in the Marino Center Atrium for free sexual health supplies and other low-cost wellness supplies. Students can also access free external condoms in the lobby of University Health and Counseling Services in the Forsyth Building. In addition, please view our list of locations to get free or low cost sexual health supplies in Boston here.

What are the policies for Frisky Husky’s data storage and confidentiality?

Frisky Husky, like all OPEN programs and services, falls under our confidentiality policy. Read more about this policy here.

When students place an order, they will be asked to log into Qualtrics using Northeastern’s SSO function. This is how we ensure that only Northeastern students are accessing the program. We also ask that students provide their full name, NUID, and mailing address on the order form. Without this information, we would not be able to mail orders to students. All student data is held in Qualtrics, which is a secure data collection program. No other offices or parties will be notified that a student has ordered from the Frisky Husky program.

If you have concerns about providing personal information, we encourage you to utilize the Wellness Vending Machine or other free and low-cost sexual health supply options.
